Operation Encompass directly connects the police with schools to ensure support for children living with domestic abuse in their homes when there has been a police attended incident of Domestic Abuse.

Operation Encompass, has been designed to provide early reporting to schools of any domestic abuse incidents that occur outside normal school hours and that might have an impact on a child attending school the following day.

Cleveland Police recorded more than 2,000 children were present at domestic abuse incidents between April and December 2019. Cleveland Police’s latest available figures reveal that officers recorded at least one child present when attending 2,247 domestic incidents.

Cleveland Police have launched the Operation Encompass campaign as part of their strategy to safeguard children at risk of Domestic Abuse.
